Best practices in Tech Talent Acquisition from the perspective of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging

Awarded with Talent10 in 2019, I have extensive tech and leadership experience in talent acquisition, as well as diversity & inclusion strategy. I’ve joined The Workshop to lead the Talent Acquisition Team and its global strategy for recruiting and D&I from HQ in Malaga and London. The Workshop was born from the idea that every inventor needs a space where they can think, tinker around, and play. Inspired by Thomas Edison’s workshop, our offices may not look much like his, but our curiosity, originality, and inventive spirit are just the same. Previously, I was a Senior Recruiting Partner for Technology in the music tech companies like SoundCloud and Native Instruments, as well as entertainment/gaming companies like Wooga where I contributed greatly to D&I hiring programmes and providing equal opportunities in tech and leadership paths. I am currently managing a team hiring for Tech & Product profiles mostly, within the global Talent department, collaborating closely with Learning & Organizational Development, Community Relations and Marketing teams. I truly believe People and Culture make the companies differentiate nowadays, and Talent is a strategic function of every tech company: starting from the employer branding and candidate experience journey to the good employee and learning experience. D&I topics are very close to me given my educational background in psychology (I specialized in gender studies and was involved in research topics on the same), and experience volunteering as an educator, conference speaker and contributor to underprivileged and LGBTQI communities.

How to give birth an idea in research

In this talk, we will learn how to define and formalize a problem in molecular biology, the use of algorithms for its resolution and the implementation of an application for users also from other research areas. During this process, the self-learning part was the key to publish this project in top ranking journals. Through this experience, we would like to inspire a new wave of developers-researchers
